Indiefuzz staff list: 21 best cd’s of 2010: no. 1!

1. Nik & Simon – Fier ‘The snobs of what calls itself the serious music press neglect the talented young duo, mainly because they are from a certain fishing village. Indiefuzz listen beyond the boyband looks, the not very selective TV appearances and the sweet-voiced tear-jerkers and grade the musicians for what they really are: [...]

Indiefuzz staff list: 21 best cd’s of 2010: no. 3 to 2

3. Janelle Monáe – The ArchAnroid ‘Listening to Monáe’s ArchAndroid fills the evenings with glamour. The impressive amount of already classic mainstream popsongs ArchAndroid boasts; Dance or Die, Faster, Wondaland, Cold War, Tightrope will be better and more fondly remembered than anything released by A-list Diva’s like Beyonce or Lady Gaga. Despite her strong musical [...]

The fuzzbabe reflects on all that is 2010

So another year come and gone. I anxiously await each year for December to arrive (as I get to receive gifts for 3 weeks in a row: Sint, birthday, Christmas) and yet I always forget the crashing feeling experienced during the ‘last week of the year’.  A week used to reflect on all done and [...]

Indiefuzz staff list: 21 best cd’s of 2010: no. 10 to 7

10. Wild Nothing – Gemini ‘Wild Nothing masters the art of constructing splenetic lullabies out of – in itself – heartening and sunny elements.’ 9. Fenech Soler – Fenech Soler ‘Three outstanding singles were the harbingers for a timeless dance album that many  a-lists artists would commit bloody murder for.  Fenech-Soler combine the euphoric qualities of house music, with the snug glamour [...]

Indiefuzz staff list: 21 best cd’s of 2010: no. 15 to 11

15. Crystal Castles – Crystal Castles (II) 14. Deerhunter – Halcyon Digest ‘Halcyon Digest is eerily accessible, uplifting even, like treading on dead leafs in a forest of yellow and golden brown.’ 13. Yeasayer – Odd Blood ‘Yeasayer are as complete as a band can be, experimental but also the creators of timeless dance tracks’ [...]

Indiefuzz staff list: 21 best cd’s of 2010: no. 21 to 16

21. Black Keys – Brothers 20. Titus Andronicus – The Monitor 19. Field Music – Field Music (Measure) ‘The transverse nature of Field Music (Measures) expresses itself in many changes of pace, without making it hard to listen or even thumb to’ 18. RJD2 – Colossus 17. School of seven Bells – Disconnect from desire ‘Disconnect from Desire [...]

Manou’s year of concerts

picture taken from urbanbackdrop.worldpress.com

2010 was a great year for concerts. Hardly any disapointments, so unlike last year I couldn’t form a substantial enough list of worst concerts. Interesting facts: of the 49 concerts I’ve seen this year 29 were in Paradiso Apart from the performances during Dockville, I haven’t visited any large concerts. No HMH, no Ahoy, ArenA or [...]
