Everlast at the Fortune Sound Club, Vancouver, September 17th 2012.
When the fuzzgang gets the chance to see Everlast we go see him, it is a fuzzbabe must. While the fuzzgang has seen Everlast play multiple times in Amsterdam this was our first time in Canada and we were happy to see it was at one of our new favorite locations, Fortune Sound Club. As the king of blues-hop, for more than 32 years Everlast has been doing his thing, writing great lyrics, playing his guitar and singing (or rapping) with his deep dark voice. With multiple records and collaborations under his belt Everlast once again delighted his fans by releasing at the end of 2011 his sixth album ‘Songs Of The Ungrateful Living’. His recent performance at the Fortune Sound Club did not disappoint. The forty-three year old Everlast spilled his soul and performed a mix of the best picks from all five previous albums along with a selection of new songs.
Perhaps the most moving performance from the night was the song ‘Sixty-Five Roses’ from his latest album. While the Everlast public image is rough and tough, the truth is he has another important role in his life, and that is being a tough daddy. This song is about coping and accepting his 3-year old daughter illness, Cystic Fibrosis. The lyrics are poetic and his delivery is heartfelt.

Another great song from his new album is ‘Long Time’.
