Welcome to the eighth post in a weekly series on new Canadian music ! This week it is happy high school rock with a review of Oh No! Yoko’s re-released album ‘Pau Pau’.
Oh No! Yoko is a band from Abbotsford. They are 90′s kids Liam, Everett, Drew and Raphael and they make catchy, happy, poppy tunes. Everetts guitar playing and voice create the distinct Oh No! Yoko sound.
Songs that can’t resist the shake of the hips or robo arms in the air dance are Go Alien, Coryza and 90s Kids. Pau Pau is a totally free download from Oh No! Yoko’s Bandcamp site !!
Oh No! Yoko is touring Europe in October and November and maybe they’ll stop somewhere near you !? If they do make sure you go see them and pick up your copy of Pau Pau on a colourful Cheesus Crust Records cassette !
To catch a glimpse at this new upcoming band check out the video of Go Alien.
You can find more of Oh No! Yoko on our Youtube playlist on the indiefuzz channel with some vids from their Musical Nooners performance on the CBC Vancouver outdoor stage.
