The legendary Wormer punk rock scene from the late 70′s produced many successful bands like The Ex, The Kift, and The Gentry. They all fizzed out in the 80′s but after a 17 year sabbatical one has recently resurfaced and is ready to reclaim their fan base.
The Gentry has released a new album titled, “On the Margins of Essence”. While the punk rock haircuts are gone, their flair for creating music blossomed during their sabbatical. The album provides the listener with a subdued and comfortable feeling. Placing them in a trance and then waking them up during the fundamental punk rock moments.
The warm vocals of the frontman will remind you of when you first fell in love with their music. Think back to the days of Teenage Fanclub, Morrissey, and nowadays The National. The Gentry were already to be experienced live in the past months in venues as De Kade and Panama. Feeling nostalgic yet? Relight your punk rock spark and attend the album release party for “On the Margins of Essence” Saturday January 15th at Krommenie.
